whale noise and sleeping pills

We met Stanley in Cornwall. He came in the pub, around midday. We watched as he dropped off a piece of paper on a table and walked out. I went over to have a look and it was blank apart from the words ‘light rain’ had been hand written in the centre.
I saw him again a while later and asked him what he was doing. We sat around and drank and he pulled out these text pieces from his bag. As time has gone on we’ve slowly built up a friendship and he agreed to do a short run publication with us, where we will type up his work.
He has no social media presence and has a phone that just makes phone calls. Our correspondence is slow and deliberate, through letters. - Philip Newcombe.
